Align Recruitment is seeking a Safety Manager to join a well-known developer-builder in Vancouver, BC.

The successful candidate will encompass a proven track record in developing safety initiatives within the construction industry and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to promote safety on-site.

We are seeking a strong leader who is passionate about safety and excited to join our client’s Safety and Compliance Department.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and initiating site safety plans and safety programs on all sites;
• Performing monthly audits;
• Liaising with WorkSafe and Health Authorities to ensure requirements are met and exceeded;
• Providing site orientation;
• Managing the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level;
• Interpreting safety regulations for the project;
• Tracking and developing all safety training initiatives; 
• Driving a safety-oriented approach to work.

Requirements:

• Knowledgeable about WorkSafe BC requirements;
• 7+ years of related experience with a degree in environmental health, safety or related area;
• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent is an asset;
• Must be familiar with construction terminology;
• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail;
• Sense of Urgency.
